How do I get To The Bay Filey?

You’ll find that The Bay Filey is accessible by train, bus and car and is in close proximity to other locations including; Scarborough, Cayton Bay & Hunmanby making it the perfect base for your Yorkshire Coast holiday. Put in YO14 9GA into google maps and the best route will show whether that be car, train or cycle! We have a new transport blog – so click and find out more!

Is the Beach Accessible?

The beach is accessible several ways from The Bay. The easiest (but is a steep path) is from The Bay Filey’s own beach access. Or you could walk through to Primrose Valley and use their shallow beach access. Finally a short walk to Hunmanby Gap provides an alternative but it is a road without a pavement.

You can also walk to the beach using the King Charles III England Coastal Path and if you wish walk the length and breadth of the Englands Coastline as the path actually comes through the village!

What are the tide times?

We suggest you check the Filey tide times before heading to the beach – our website has tide times for the local area.

For more information on the Yorkshire coast. Please note when you book we send you a “beach guide” so you can plan your visit!

What are the luxury properties and comfort collections?

When browsing a property have a look for the “comfort” or “luxury” collection icon. All of our properties are lovely properties, but our luxury collection properties feature one or more of the following:

Detached Property

Beautifully Decorated and Furnished
Seaview / Lake View /Balcony / BBQ / Deck

Do you have support if you need it on the village?

ABH has access to Anchor at The Bay 24/7 all year round – a large 3 bedroom cottage with sofa bed. We have brand new spares available in that property should you need anything in your property. We also have an EV charger guests can use if the communal ones are not available and should the worse happen, Anchor at The Bay is available for up to 8 guests in the unlikely event of a boiler breakdown etc in your property. The Bay has CCTV and security overnight for reassurance and there is always our office which is available 24/7.

What size and type of house is best for me / my family?

There is such a large choice of properties and sizes from 1 bedroom to 4 bedroom houses sleeping 10 people so we have devised a really useful page where you can view the properties by size / type.

What equipment is in the kitchen?

All of our properties have fully equipped kitchens with Oven, Hob, Microwave. Dishwasher, Washing Machine (or washer dryer), all utensils, kitchen and oven ware as well as plenty of glasses, mugs and everything you need for a self-catering holiday. If you are booking a property that sleeps 4 then we will provide enough equipment for you to cook and serve a meal for 4 people – this logic applies to all house sizes.

What is your smallest property?

Our 1 bedroom apartments are our smallest properties and ideal for a couple and or a child / baby.

Are the beach houses on the beach / made of wood?

Our beach houses are made of concrete – are all centrally heated and have two bathrooms – making them an ideal choice for ground floor living. Most have a log burner making them super cozy too!

Do you have coffee machines?

Our properties include a Tassimo Coffee Machine for you to use – just choose, buy and bring your favourite pod(s) and enjoy!

When you start your booking, all this information is displayed per property but a typical payment schedule is 20% deposit at the point of booking followed by the balance (including damage bond) 8 weeks before you travel. We sadly cannot offer payment plans.

How do you set your pricing?

Like many travel companies we use “dynamic pricing” – this is based on arrival date and demand such as bank and school holidays. The price you see listed when you book is the price you pay. Should the price increase we will not charge you more and should it decrease we wont lower the price.
