One of the coast’s unmissable highlights is RSPB Bempton Cliffs, a dramatic bird sanctuary where millions of seabirds nest. From April to July you can spot puffins, gannets, kittiwakes and more soaring above the sea, a true nature spectacle. RSPB Bempton is part of the headland at Flamborough and inside the recording area of Flamborough Bird Observatory (FBO) which covers most of the headland.

Flamborough Head & Lighthouse

This chalk promontory offers some of the most striking cliff scenery in England. Walk the coastal path, explore Flamborough Lighthouse, and keep an eye out for seals and seabirds drifting in the surf.

Cleveland Way

For walkers and hikers, the Cleveland Way National Trail hugs the coast between Filey and beyond, offering panoramic views of sea, cliff and countryside, perfect for sunrise strolls or long dog-friendly hikes.

Town by Town: What to Do

Filey

A classic seaside town with a wide sandy beach, promenade amusements and crazy golf for all ages. The beach offers miles of space to explore, rock pool at low tide and scenic views toward Flamborough Head.A large percentage of our properties are on The Bay, Filey and have direct access to the beautiful dog-friendly Filey Beach. Nearby in Filey town, visit the Bird Garden & Animal Park for a fun family day out or check out local events like the quarterly Filey Food Festival, delicious stalls and producers gather here across, the first being the weekend 4th/5th April.

Scarborough

Just down the coast, Scarborough brings traditional seaside fun in spades, from arcades and beaches to great shopping and eateries. Don’t miss the Scarborough Fair Collection for vintage rides, steam engines and quirky family fun.

Sewerby & Bridlington

Explore the elegant Sewerby Hall & Gardens, where historic rooms, immaculate gardens and a small zoo make for a lovely afternoon out.

Bridlington itself brings classic British resort charm, golden beaches, lively arcades, harbour views and seasonal outdoor events. Bridlington’s Kite Festival is a favourite family event, held on the Sewerby cliff tops mid-May, this colourful spectacle fills the sky with giant kites and creative shapes, a photographer’s dream
