Flamborough South Landing

Small shingle and pebble beach - worth a visit to Flamborough Head.

South Landing beach lies on the south side of Flamborough Head, just over 3 miles north-east of Bridlington, within an area which has been designated a Local Nature Reserve.

The shingle and pebble beach here is backed by grassy, chalk cliffs, which provide beachgoers with some degree of shelter from the sea breezes. At low tide, a number of rockpools, teeming with crabs, small fish and other wildlife can be found in and around the chalk-reef.
South Landing is also a good place for bird watching. In the summer guillemots, gannets, sand martins and fulmars can all be found here. In the winter there is a chance of spotting eider ducks.
There are a number of walking trails in the area, including some cliff-top walks with good views over Bridlington Bay.
A car park with a picnic site can be found just off South Sea Road. From here it is a steep descent, down 75 steps, past RNLI Flamborough Lifeboat Station and down to the beach.
