Barmston beach
Lovely beach near Bridlington.
Barmston Beach is a quiet, sandy stretch just south of Bridlington and a short drive from Filey. Ideal for peaceful walks, beach games, and birdwatching, it’s backed by dramatic clay cliffs that attract nesting birds in warmer months. It’s a perfect spot to unwind away from the crowds. Stretching over 2km to the town of Bridlington in the north, there is no shortage of space at Barmston even if it ever did get busy.
Barmston beach was previously awarded a Blue Flag, however, due to coastal erosion access down to the beach has become more difficult and the award was withdrawn in 2010. The beach does still have a Quality Coast award reflecting its cleanliness and superb facilities.
