Great location to relax and enjoy facilities on site and surrounding towns. Beautiful, comfortable house that is equipped well with stunning balconys. If travelling with young ones, encourage to take a plastic cup/plate or two. None available and whilst no damage, was a concern.Whole family loved the house (including day tripping grandparents) and having stayed in the Bay prior, our favourite holiday home by far.

Hi there Laura,A massive and sincere thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that you had such a great holiday at Oyster Cottage. We loved your comments about the balconies which are indeed a lovely addition and the Cathedral windows make it very special. Lovely looking cottage, clean and comfortable. This cottage is light and bright with four sets of bifold doors, two downstairs and in the bedrooms leading to a balcony. Three adults, two children and two dogs stayed and we had plenty of room even on the rainy days!

The perfect holiday retreat!
5 stars
Wow! Beautiful cottage with stunning windows and full length balcony accessible from both of the good sized bedrooms each providing en-suite facilities! Quality fixtures and fittings throughout the cottage providing a very comfortable stay. Loved the coffee / tea / milk and biscuits welcome pack too. Very peaceful location on a lovely site with easy access to a beautiful dog friendly beach. Please note the cottage is overlooked by a couple of other lodges but this did not in any way spoil our wonderful holiday. Parking was never an issue for us and spaces were just outside the cottage. Can I please suggest providing key fobs to highlight which keys are for the downstairs bi-fold doors/windows and which keys are for the bedroom bi-fold doors/windows? The weather was extremely lovely during our stay so we opened these every day but this did become a bit of a chore working out which key fitted what door every time. On site: Lovely dog friendly family pub, menu limited but meals were lovely. Costa coffee and cake also available at the pub. Coffee shop on site was closed during our stay but looked a nice place to visit with outside seating available at both the pub and the coffee shop Mini supermarket shop on site well stocked for essentials but extremely pricey! We had a perfect holiday in a perfect cottage Thank you

Hi Michelle,I just want to say a massive thank you for this wonderful review. We really appreciate your positive feedback as it means the absolute world to us.We love Oyster Cottage and we also love it when other people come along, and can share in the joy of staying at such a special place.Really strange that you mentioned about the keys, as we are in the process of organising all the bifold doors to have thumb locks, which are all operated by 1 key [Emoji Removed] So actually, it is really relevant feedback to us and just shows that we are on the right track with this.We would love for you and your family to come back at any time to stay at Oyster and we wish you all the very very best and have a great rest of the year.Kindest regardsGaynor and Mark RogersOwners.

Beautiful place
4.8 stars
What a wonderful property and also a beautiful site. The cottage was bright, clean and comfortable and had everything you could need. The full span windows and balcony were amazing. It's location was fabulous and a short walk to the beach, the on site pub served delicious food and my children enjoyed the arcade. Only problem we had was after traveling 4 hours we arrived to find the area had a power outage. So the first night was a write off! After getting out from school/work and traveling for hours we really needed a cuppa and a shower. We weren't informed of this etc, couldn't charge phone or get internet to check and ended spending the night sat in the dark unable to do anything. Saying that though I would definitely return again! We had a lovely time and thought the little finishing touches where lovely. My family and Rambo our dog would love to return!

Thank you for the review and we are so pleased you enjoyed your break. As you said on that evening we had a major power outage in the area. We attempted to contact all guests but due to the power outage we understand that some messages didn't get through. The power cut was a huge power outage across the Filey area and was outside of our control. We did get support from the village pub and these were open to you if you needed power. The power was restored a little over two hours from the power cut so you should have had wifi and power for most of the night.

A lovely first holiday with our baby
4.7 stars
We had a fantastic stay at Oyster Cottage and were wowed by the windows at the property. I had initial issues locating the leisure pass, and despite it being bank holiday, Anthony replied within 30 seconds to help! The property had been freshly cleaned when we arrived but unfortunately the rug and sofa still had lots of dog hairs on. Whilst its a dog friendly property so I understand finding a few completely, the rug was pretty gross and it meant we wasnt comfortable putting our baby down on there to sit it or roll around. Other than that, we would highly recommend. The rooms were lovely, plenty of towels. The little welcome pack was greatly received. We would return.

Hi there Josie, Many thanks for taking the time to provide this review and we are delighted that you loved the cottage. May I sincerely apologise that the rug and sofas were not cleaned to the usual high standard we expect. We are very disappointed with this and should anything like this happen again, please contact the letting agent and he would arrange for a cleaner to come round and rectify immediately. I have passed on your feedback to the cleaning company to ensure that this does not happen again. I am so pleased that you will return and thank you so much for your lovely comments about the windows, towels and welcome pack. Hope you return soon,Gaynor

Fantastic cottage
5 stars
This was our first holiday taking our dog with us so we were a little apprehensive but this could not have been a better choice. The cottage itself was amazing, clean, fabulous location, well stocked with utensils, kitchen equipment etc. the best towels Ive ever had in a holiday cottage!!!! And plenty of them. A lovely little welcome back with teabags, milk, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid etc just enough for a long weekend. Little things that are very thoughtful. The upstairs balcony was beautiful to sit out on and we were very lucky with the weather. We had the added bonus of watching a bird with her chicks in the nest she had built in the corner. The location to the shop, the beach, the coastal path was so close yet also very very private and peaceful. We will definitely be returning. The owners called as they were on site when we had a tiny problem with the key box and they were so friendly and helpful as was the man we called about the key. Excellent customer service that makes you keen to return. Thank you

Lovely stay will definitely be back
4.8 stars
We have recently returned from a lovely stay. We arrived mid evening so we just about had time to have our tea and get settled. When I went to make breakfast I realised that we didnt have any kind of washing up liquid and on reading the welcome pack it stated we would need to pop the dishwasher on at the end of our stay, but we hadnt brought any dishwasher tablets either. We got in touch with housekeeping and it was very easy. The team had forgot our welcome packs which included the basics of what we needed to keeping the kitchen clean and also some tea, coffee, soft drinks and biscuits. We also asked at the same time for some towels that we could take to the pool - this all happened extremely quickly. The property is lovely and we had a very comfortable stay. Ive dropped a star for the location for two reasons. The first (main reason) is that the photos of the property do not show the many lodge style properties that now occupy the land directly out of the rear of the property (bedrooms) . Presumably they were taken before these were in situ, however I was a bit disappointed as we partially chose this property because it wasnt overlooked and we could have additional privacy from the balcony and to the rear of the property. This wasnt the case. Also- and something that may be unavoidable but on one occasion we couldnt get parked in any of the parking bays. Our son is disabled so this is quite important to us. We had to park partially on the grass (which is not ideal for any party) and keep an eye out for when a space was free which was late at night and move the car so it was parked correctly. Whilst this wasnt a major issue I felt very uncomfortable parking like this and it would have been a challenge should we have needed any kind of accessibility equipment. I have to end by saying that we would return and are very likely to. The positive points of our stay far outweigh what are minor points in the grand scheme of things .

Hi there Lorna,Many thanks to you for taking your precious time write this review. We really appreciate your feedback and want to start by saying how delighted we are that you enjoyed your stay at Oyster Cottage and for bearing with the cleaning company when they missed the welcome pack. Thank you for bringing it to our attention so we could sort this out asap for you. We are sorry about the misunderstanding about the lodges in front of the property. We have checked the website photos and they are a true representation if you look carefully you will see where they are situated but I wish we could indeed do something about this but sadly it is beyond our control- as is the parking. But thank you so much for bearing with us and for not it letting this mire your stay and for your very fair evaluations. This does really mean everything to us. We do have a sister cottage to Oyster and she is really lovely too and has her own dedicated parking spot with an EV charger too. If you wish to take a look you can find the details on https://www.anchorbayholidays.uk/accommodation/gingerbread-cottage. We would love to have you and your lovely family stay with us again any time Lorna. All the very best,Gaynor and Mark

Hi, lovely holiday home very comfortable, we were there for 3 weeks very central for walks to the beach, the towels and bed sheets were changed after 2 weeks. The only slight negative was the central heating was set too low, it has been very cold and it it became quite chilled at times. There is a log burner which was very handy, but we did burn a few trees during our stay. Overall i would recommend this holiday cottage and would return.
