2nd visit bluebell cottage

This was our 2nd visit to the cottage , having gone the first time early June , the cottage is lovely and clean , it has all the home comforts , and is well placed to visit the many tourist attractions , the area has lots of dog friendly places , which was good for us , as we took our westie with us.

Nice few days with the grandkids

Very comfortable and well kitted out. Plenty of crockery and utensils. We have stopped here before as we know the owners. We tried to use swimming pool but always full maybe some sort of booking system would be good. Beach was nice but hilly to access.

Nice house for a family

This was a nice house for a family of 4. We are in fact are a family of 5 and opted for the sofa bed for our eldest daughter. What we didn't consider however was them sleeping in for ages or wanting an early night and that put the downstairs largely out of action for times we might have used it because its small and open plan downstairs so even boiling the kettle is loud. Location was good. The walk to the beach cafe is recommended and is the food in the pub. The shop is handy but closes early. We never used the other facilities as limited availability and preferred to venture out for the day. Finally e didn't take our dog, although was going too but in hindsight I'm glad because there is no garden to let them run free and you have to keep them on leads until you get to the beach. We have a springer and he likes to run free so glad we didn't take him although the other dogs there seemed to enjoy the beach of course.All in all - nice purpose built complex.

We offer the sofa bed to ensure that larger families can get the best value without opting for a three bedroom house - and we do list the location of the sofa bed in the listing. We sadly are not allowed to enclose the gardens on the bay and we have a dedicated dog page on our website. Some of the houses do have balconies and enclosed decks now (e.g. on the lake) and these are marked on the pet icons on the site. Thanks again and look forward to welcoming you soon.

pleasant stay

booked at short notice , good location , well equipped had everything we needed , clean throughout and like new condition, taste fully decorated , the kettle wasn`t working on arrival , but contacted owner who arranged for a replacement to be delivered next day , we would certainly stay here again .

Family retirement weekend

Fabulous well stocked cottage. The tea, coffee and biscuits were a nice touch. Exceptionally clean, lovely decor, beds very comfy. One slight issue, could do with a rubber bath mat, bath is so deep, tricky to get out off without grab rails. Otherwise,everything was perfect, even the weather.

Blue bell cottage was the perfect accommodation for our family holiday.The cottage was spotless and very comfortable we were very happy to be staying there.The heated towel rail in the bathroom was a Godsend, no soggy towels to deal with, thank you Sarah and Iain and all at the Bay.

Beautiful cottage

We have stayed at the bay many times before and loved this cottage . Newly refurbished in a get location close the the entrance of the complex . The back of the cottage is tucked away a little which was perfect ! Weve noticed some cottages face on to big open spaces making your patio less private and sometimes a little noisy. Comfort a 4 as I didnt get on with the pillows but thats nothing new for me . Had everything you could possibly need and more in the kitchen , the washer dryer came in handy after swimming.

A wonderful week with lovely weather

We enjoyed a lovely stay and the cottage was ideal for our needs, it was very clean and well furnished. It is well situated for exploring the local area and we went to a different place each day to explore (Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington, Hornsea, Filey). We twice had a lovely meal at The Glasshouse at Charlotte's in Filey.We are looking forwards to coming again in October to stay.

Excellent cottage

Lovely cottage very clean and modern perfectly situated on the Bay Very spacious The only gripe I've got is that the heating was locked.and we couldn't turn it on in the day and we had my 83 year old mum with us and the weather was very cold Will definitely book again but maybe not in march

Weekend break with friends and dogs

Bluebell cottage is home from home. There is everything you need and more for your stay. Loved the cleanliness and decor of the cottage with a comfy sofa and comfy beds. The location was great, just a short stroll to the amenities. Which we used. We visited Filey and Whitby for the weather was kind to us. With lots of walks on the beaches. We all felt relaxed and can't wait to return

February half term in Filey

Myself, my wife, 2 boys and dog spent a week at Bluebell Cottage during February half term. On arrival, the place was spotless, and the owners had left a bottle of Prosecco and some biscuits as a welcome treat, which was lovely. The beds were comfortable and bathroom was clean. The Bay as a site has everything you need and is dog friendly. We had a lovely stay and would go back to Bluebell Cottage in a heartbeat.

Enjoyable

Lovely cottage in a great location. Lovely walks to beach through woodland or through village.Unfortunately not somewhere we would visit again because of garden situation. Would have loved a closed in area to let dogs outside but all areas round cottage are open so they had to remain indoors while we were indoors. Cleanliness could have been better. And New bedding and pillows a must.Thank you for a lovely stay
